A sauna won't kill a virus. If a cold isn't gone in 2 weeks, it's probably not just a cold; a cold shouldn't deplete your energy that much, that long. Go see a doctor!
Could be just an acute bronchitis if you're coughing a lot (that would make your throat sore). Could be RSV, which is very common especially in small children, but in adults manifests as a really bad cold, usually with laryngitis. Could even be a new mild strain of whooping cough that is going around. Could be a pneumonia.
Could be you need to stop smoking, if you do?!
Could be just a really yucky cold, and do what is always the best advice regardless -- eat right, rest, and drink plenty of liquids.
Trust me, I'm a healthcare professional. Not trying to scare you, it's just that I've seen it all and there's lots of possibilities. Don't worry, but do check with a doctor.
I've always been able to knock out a cold within 3 days by megadosing on vitamin C (2000mg for 3 days), and zinc with echinacea. But that only works if you catch it at first sign of symptoms.

Some viruses just take longer than others, particularly if your tired and generally run down. Could also be another cold directly following the first. Eat loads of fruit and veg, breathe lots of steam and it should go, (as long as your chest isn't infected). If it still doesn't shift after another week get it checked by your GP, just is case you have tonsillitis without knowing it.

with a cold, any trickles of fluid or snot escape from your nose and down in to the back of your throat which causes throat pain with a cold, so to stop the bacteria attacking your throat which is keeping you ill for so long, you need to gargle antiseptic mouthwash twice a day suck throat lozenges but they have got to be good, and a couple of hot toddies of a night time. hope you shift it soon x

Take a Zinc tablet once a day. Zinc hepls to boost your immune system. It's a tired old answer but rest is what you need too. On your day off sleep as much as you can and drink lots of water.

IF YOU HAVE HAD THIS LONG ARE YOU SURE YOU HAVEN,T GOT A VIRAL INFECTION, BECAUSE THAT CAN TAKE AWHILE TO SHAKE OFF. IF YOU HAVE AREALLY SORE THROAT WHICH CAN BE AWFUL ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT WHEN YOU CAN'T SLEEP, IF THIS IS SO, GO TO YOUR NEAREST CHEMIST AND ASK FOR DIFFLAM ORAL RINSE, IT IS A MOUTHWASH WHICH YOU JUST GARGLE, IT TAKES WAY ALL THE INFLAMMATION AND PAIN COMPLETLY, IT IS QUITE A BIG BOTTLE AND COSTS ABOUT £7.60 BUT IT LASTS QUITE AWHILE, PLEASE TRY.
