I need a good story plot for an english essay.
It has to start with me going to the city and then something strange has to happen.
Like little mars men or something.
Any ideas most welcome!

How about you take a shortcut on the way and ending up somewhere that is not on the map? It could be like our world or somewhere supernatural or spooky - and you want to try and find your way home.

You go to the city.
You realize everyone suddenly disappears from the streets.
You desperately look for someone, break into all the buildings, etc.
Eventually, and by accident, you wrench a water hydrant from the street and as soon as the water hits you, everyone suddenly begins appearing.
Unfortunately for you, they all realize the many break-ins you've done. They all get mad at you.
After your punishment, you go back home and realize you had forgotten to take a shower. And that's the reason everyone disappeared. You smelled. =)
