These people believe in peace at any price. They forgot their history of 1938 Munich.

Your question needs to be further defined. Precisely do you mean by "some people?" Let us further define "war." As a Viet Nam vet, I was involved in a very large police action, not an all out war. The USA has not been engaged in a war since WWII. When at war, the ENTIRE nation bonds and fights a common enemy. Today's youth has no idea what hardships a real war will impose and I do not believe has the guts to be willing to die for the defense of their freedoms. Today's politicians are the dumbest and most embarrassing collection of self-absorbed idiots that have been elected to Congress since the end of the Civil War. Those in Congress who are in opposition to the President regarding Iraq, are giving aid and comfort to the enemy our troops are facing. How demoralizing do you think it is for the troops on the ground in Iraq when they realize that Congress has made them political pawns. They have every right to fear being cut off by fat cats sitting in the comfy hall and chambers of our Capitol. If our politicians cannot agree to support our troops as they have promised, every one of them should be tried for capital treason. That means that upon conviction, they would be executed in federal prisons.

As my learned fellow poster points out, the Iraq War isn't a "war" proper. It is an occupation, we are fighting against mainly Iraqis who are not soldiers in Iraq's armed forces. If it was a real war like WW2, we would be asked to make sacrifices and would willingly make them. But what sacrifices have we, the American people, been asked to make? I don't think we should have to rely on a few, brave volunteers if we are going to call this a "war". Let's raise taxes to pay for it, let's bring back conscription. Then let's see who still wants to call it a "war", and who wants it to continue.

One really has nothing to do with the other, also alot of people joined the Military for College etc, and now they complain about having to serve their Country as was outlined in their contract. Thankfully they are far and few between, but they are there. God Bless America and our Troops.

Because the US Army is accountable to the President and funded by Congress - therefore they are ultimately accountable to the people of the United States. Surely, you are not as stupid as your questions makes you out to be.

I'm not sure if they suddenly decided they wanted out of the military or if they are being manipulated by others who want to use them for their agenda of ending that conflict now ... regardless.
I myself think it is very dangerous to set a timetable for leaving because it will be telling the insurgents, "Hey, just wait til the UN forces are all gone, then we can raise hell and take over all of this..."
I also think leaving before Iraqis are functional in defending themselves, we would be setting them up for another dictator-type situation.
Unfortunately in today's world, showing any signs of "weakness" (or reluctance to defend yourself) will only lead to more attacks like September 11, 2001, because such a$$holes are always looking for another opportunity.

Because Liberals want control of the White House and your life.
They make it sound like we are losing the war and everything the administration does is bad, evil or wrong....this is how they garner support. They don't have the support on their own merit, so they have to discredit others.
Besides the Political interests, Liberals are known to be Cowardly, Treasonous, and hate America..They lost VietNam for us, now they want to lose Iraq..Dejavu........

Very good point. But I hope you already realize that it's all some misdirection. The Democrats want control of the White House. So they blame Our President, in order to get real Americans to wanna vote for them. I'm glad to see that you didn't buy in to it. God Bless The United States Mititary!
