Get some healthy treats (important... HEALTHY) and break them into tiny pieces (about the size of half a pea). Get your lead out and hook him up. Hold onto the lead the whole time you are training him. Start by giving the dog a few pieces and praising him for paying attention. Then tell him to sit... firmly, but pleasantly. When he just stands there lift up on the lead. This will cause his hind legs to become unbalanced. Then, push down on his butt with your fingertips until he sits. Once he sits, immediately start praising him and give him a treat. Let him stand up and do the whole thing again. Do this repeatedly. If he begins to sit without pushing his butt down, praise him even more. If he begins to sit without pulling the lead up, praise him even more than that. Eventually, he will get the idea. Do this for ten minutes or so and then let him off the lead. Leave it until the next day and then start again. Variants of this work for pretty much anything.

Use one word commands, along with hand commands so he can put these two together. After a while, you can do just one or the other and he'll know what you're talking about. Such as "sit" and use your pointer finger pointing towards the floor. Push his bottom if you have to and then give him a treat when he actually does sit. There's also the clicker method that works really well too. One idea that I use, is when you want him to pee outside, tell him to "hurry up" and this way when you're out in public, people won't know what you're talking about. Don't do this each time you're in a hurry to go somewhere, just make sure you've got some time to play ball afterwards, so he won't start thinking if he goes pee, then you'll leave him. Make it so he'll pee and get a treat by playing ball.

You'll have fun with him. Wish you the best!

It takes time, but you have to be stern and treat. That is the rules...Make them do what you want...I use words and words only...it is great to use hand motions or a clicker. But a calm...stern voice will get the trick done everytime. Work on sit with a treat...Put the treat at his nose and then move it back towards his butt...that will make it's head go up and butt down. then treat him...if he moves before the treat do it again...And always remember that they are only good for about 15 minutes to teach and then they brain dump. When that works...work on stay and lay down. I have two dogs and they do more trick then dogs twice there age it takes time and love and treats.

Day 1
You get a(leather, nylon hurts your hand) leash and a choke-collar, and put them on Buddy. Than, you walk with him for a bit. When you stop, say "sit."
If doesn't do it right away, then that's OK Say it again, and push his rump down. Praise, pet him a lot, but no biscuits. Now say "stand", and pull up with the leash. Praise again. Make him sit, and do this for ten more minutes, alternating walking, standing, and sitting.
Day 2
Put the leash & collar on. Review sit, stand and walk. Time for new things. Make him sit, and then say "down". If he dosen't, then say it again and pull his paws down, praise. then stand Buddy, and say down again (u don't have to be in a sitting position) . If he gets it, then be very excited about it.
Do this a couple of times and praise a lot. Don't have very long sessions, it will tire him out. Good luck with the pup!

You should be very repetitive about it and reward him when your dog does the right tricks. But when you use treats they seem to be more focused on the treat and pay attention and do whatever they can so they can get the treat. Just make sure not to just try to get him to sit just once a day, do it a repetitive amount of times so he gets the hang of it. Remember to be very patient, this could take a week or two.

I have 2 dog, one is 10 and one is 2, the one that is 2 is very hyper and loves to run also...it took us a while but we got him to learn sit. what we do with our other dog too is when they come back in from going outside they get a treat, or if u walk them u bring the treats with u, but before you give them the treat u say sit. if they dont u make them sit and say it while doing it and then praise them for sitting and give them a treat. if you keep doing that they will catch on that when they come inside before they get a treat they have to sit. and all tricks do take time, you just have to keep repeating it every day. hope that helped.

Use 1-3 word commands. Teaching him to sit, verbally, firmly, tell him to 'sit'! Use a curved motion of one hand, making sure he sees it, and lightly touch his bottom until he learns. DON'T REWARD HIM WITH FOOD WHEN HE LEARNS EACH THING...you'll have to break him of expecting a food reward when he does something right. Pat him gently and verbally tell him that what he did was good and right. To teach him to stop--heel: Put him on a leash. When you want him to stop, say 'heel, Buddy.' He will eventually learn. To teach him to shake paws: Lightly touch his paw at the side, pick it up and put it in your hand until he associates what you want him to do. To fetch: Throw something light at first. Say: 'Fetch' or 'Bring it back, Buddy'! Good Luck! Give him a little squeeze for me, will ya?

A lot of patient and time .
Repeat many time, only doing one command at a time.
Like sit,
Sit buddy sit.
Gently touch his back to help him sit down.
If he does that rewards with a treat.
In this way he will want to do for you with a treat.
Don't forget to praise all the time.
Good buddy good boy...!!
I train my cat to do that too.
Good luck
