I will have to say yes.. Kids still learn most of their behaviors and habits from their parents more than they do from most others.. But it also depends on what kind of time is being spent with the parents and what kind of attention the parents are giving to the child.
I will be the best teacher for my child. It is not anyone elses responsibility to raise my kid. I think one of the problems we have in this day and age is that the parents rely on schools and day care providers to "teach" their kids..
Parents need to realize that schools are here to help teach the kids "curriculum" so they can become better educated and have a chance for a better life.. Parents cannot expect that a teacher be held responsible for teaching them anything more than that. But sadly, parents do. They think their kids behavioral problems come from school when it is usually lack of parental guidance.
However, if the parent is "never there" for the kid, then clearly, the kid is going to find a better teacher and usually it will be someone who is a bad influence.

They are the most influential force in the child's life. That line about kids being a reflection of their parents is very true. It can go both ways....Good point!!

To me life is the best teacher because you can only tell your child so much. It is up to the child to listen.

It actually depends on what kind of parents you have... but I think they all do teach us some kind of a lesson, whether they're aware of it or not... it's on us on how we live our life and what guidelines we use... and how we take things and apply it in our lives...

Well I love my parents and they taught me a lot of lesson... and so is my grandpa
