Steak bones any bones that can splinter can cause problems for a dog. I lost my Rottie because he had a hold in his intestine all becasue of a bone.
We had him at the vert on and off for two weeks they thought he had some kind of virus. His belly got huge, he would not eat or drink and he slept often and well as brought up acid.
The meds the vet gave did not work and he died. It was awful.
We had an autopsy to see if they could find out what was going on.
They found a hole in his in testine and a bone sideways , the bone went thru his intestine. It is so painful and recovery even when found is rare.
Just be careful if you do give bones please :)

I know what you mean... some say yes, some say no. I will agree with the raw bones vs. cooked bones... but not all bones. Pork (which I don't think is any good for dogs anyways) bones can be brittle as can cooked beef and lamb bones. They can splinter. The other con is broken and chipped teeth. All in all I really don't see the need for it. I would stray away from it but If its what you prefer then go for it. You know your dogs best!!

Any fresh uncooked beef bone that has been blanched should be OK for a dog, but take it away before it becomes rank and infected. Beef marrrow bones are good and I feed my pups uncooked chicken wings with yoghurt and yeast. They love them!
Any cooked bones of a brittle nature, such as chicken, lamb and pork should not be given to dogs.
Overall, make sure that any bones are suficiently big that they cannot get stuck in their throats.

Yorkies are so tiny that I can't imagine a bone that would be beneficial. I never give my dogs bones...they can splinter, get stuck in a bunch of places and there are simply better products for sale.
I use Nylabones exclusively. Puppy bones for teething and beyond, and the eatable kind for treats. Just my opinion...

It is fine to give bones, in fact its good for them, as long as they are RAW. Do not feed cooked bones. They can cause serious internal problems.

Be careful if you do. Chop it very finely first, don't let the dog do it. I had a Beagle that we gave a bone to, and he got it wedged cross-ways in his throat. My daddy and a neighbor had to put a sheet over "Dusty's" head because, out of fear, he was becoming violent and trying to bite Daddy when he tried to get the bone out. It took pliars to solve the problem.

Of course, but make sure the bone isn't too big, or too small, the dog could swallow it, and choke.
