Waiting untill it's healed enough to have sex!
Seriously though,
The condom issue is probably the biggest disadvantage. I think trojan makes a condom with a larger reserve tip for PA's. Condoms are pretty tough, but the added jewelry does seem to tear them sometimes (especially if you get a larger gauge). Condoms are recomended for the first few months, even if you don't normally use them with your partner. You want to avoid having the healing piercing coming into contact with someone elses bodily fluids (including saliva)
Some sexual partners won't like the feeling of it. Most seem to enjoy them, but some find them uncomfortable. Once again, this mostly occurs when you have a large gauge piercing or large diameter jewelry in.
They don't seem to be very painfull, and most guys tell me there is only minor discomfort for the first week or so. You want to get it pierced at a larger gauge, normally no smaller than 12, to avoid the cheese cutter effect. The piercing will probably take a lot of abuse, so the thicker the ring, the better. Many guys find they want to stretch it much larger than what they had it pierced with origionally. (not really a disadvantage, just some handy info)

The only disadvantage is that you have to sit down to pee. Your pee will spray off the ring and it also comes out both holes once the ring has stretched the hole out. This can be fixed by putting in a larger ring, which fits tight for a while until it stretched the hole again, so you put in the next size. You end up with a large gauge, permanent second pee hole. I don't think this is a bad thing though. I'm happy to sit down to pee in exchange for having this amazing piercing! Wouldn't trade it!

well yahoo answers is obviously full of narrow-minded twats. the only disadvantage is that you probably will have to pee sitting down. go to bmezine.com and go to the "prince albert" section under piercings, plenty of men describe their happiness with getting that kind of piercing.

Condom use can be a bit unnerving because of the jewelry's tendencies to rip them. (I speak from experience here) And there is alot of irritation and discomfort in the first week during urination. You will need to abstain from sex for at least a week to let the piercing heal. Whenever I perform that piercing I make sure to let the men know that they need to be extra careful the first 2-3 months, because of the higher risk or STD's being transferred.
Healing time is quick though and there is a low risk of rejection, and the piercing is best received by a circumcised male. Although it is suitable for those who aren't circumcised.

Maybe I'm lucky, but I haven't had to change my pissing technique in the 18 years I've had a PA. Never had an infection, never had any complaints.

if you dont clean it properly it can get infected - obivously and that wouldnt be a nice place to get one! Also sometimes the ring you have in it can rip condoms so you need to be extra careful.
