Well if you believe the bible, then it identifies god as he,his & father, therefore what other way are these word to be taken. Think why would they put it this way, the male has the sperm and the female has the egg, conception begins with sperm. So the father of life is male and the mother of life is female, but at the time, the female left unprotected other dominate male or tribes steeling them. So the father is, the provider, protector & the devil. So this is another way at seeing the trinity.

I don't think it's discrimination...

But we refer to him as Father because Jesus did and the Hebrews did. Also, Jesus is God and he came to earth as a male. The Church is often referred to as the bride of Christ, this would make him male as well.

But I think that Gos is genderless. But we are not and it helps us to think of him as one or the other. It doesn't bother me at all.

Because the bible says that God created MAN in his image, and being that he created Adam first... we generally assume this means man in the sex aspect, not the "mankind" aspect.
