Cool Personalised Number Plates

When i lived in San Diego lots of people would get pesonalised plates as they were not that much more expensive. I think I paid a one off fee fo about $50 and then an extra couple of dollars to renew it. If you saw a cool VW Bug or an old Jeep with a witty plate then it served to enhance the individuality of both vehicle and owner.
In England , however they are ridiculously priced so usually only the rich can afford to waste that kind of cash. As most normal people hate the rich anyway, their personalised plates only serve to make them stand out for their vanity.

Naff. REALLY naff. Spend the money on something else that is more beneficial - and if you are the kind of person that can already afford a decent holiday/owns house outright etc then give the money to charity - there are a hell of a lot of people out there that could really benefit from the £000s of pounds that people waste on these things...

Yeah it's pretty naff but it depends what you have. If it's just a normal looking plate with your initials etc on it then that's not so bad but if you have 'THE BOSS' or something like that then it's NAFF NAFF NAFF!

they look good on cool cars like the BMW m3 etc but the person who owned my van before me put a private plate on it and left it on at the time of sale I think it looks rubbish on a van and pointless as the number means nothing to me but must have to whoever fitted it to the van in the first place so he/she should have reverted it back to the original plate

waste of money.
The only advantage I see to having personalized plates is that they are easier to remember in case the car is stolen. Otherwise why waste the money on something so immaterial?
