dont allow him off the lead at all until he can be recalled, u could use a clicker or a whistle and reward system, ie whistle and treat him, or click and treat him, he will associate the whistle with being treated...get a long training lead so he can sniff and pee etc, but u must be able to bring him to u, you should keep him close when walking, dont allow him to pee at will, if he strays check him with a sharp tug on his lead, only when you are in the park etc and there are no distractions should u use the training lead and the reward system, you are the boss, dont let him go out of doors before u, or greet your guests, when u come back home from beong out, dont let him rush and greet you, make him wait until you greet him, thats how a pack leader would behave, you are the pack leader not him, that is why he is misbehaving because he thinks he is,

obediance classes would be best yo get him to listen to you because the trainer will train you and the dog together also he needs to spend time with other dogs so group training sessions would be ideal

....go to classes and learn about recall...the dog shouldnt be off the lead untill recall is established...you probably are scaring other owners and if it goes on you could be reported to the dog warden...cos like it or not, your dog is out of your control and you can be prosecuted under the dangerous dogs act..you rescued him..dont b ugger it up by getting him put down...

I would try a strong extenderlead so he can run about yet you still have control over him and teach him this way .In time when you feel more confident try without the extender lead :)

You should just be happy that you have a dog. I'm not allowed to get one (I'm going to anyway, without even asking. I'm going to spend my scholarship money on it)
