First, I would report any of this to your doctor. I had the same kinds of things happen to me when I started Effexor XR. For me, the fast heart rate only occurred at the 150mg dose, however, everyday I still get dilated eyes, but this only happens to me at night for some reason. I do not think this is a dangerous medication. With this medication, it takes about a month to work, but sometimes it can even work faster than that... like two weeks. You should make sure that your doctor starts you out on a low dose, (I'm assuming you're taking the XR form) of 37.5mg for a week or so, and then gradually go up. This, i believe is a very good medication, however, it does have it's downsides, like every medication. Most of what you are experiencing is temporary and should go away, but as always, consult your doctor.

good lord, stop taking it until you speak to your Dr. You know why you have panick attacks, it's a learned behavior, on the other hand you dont know why your reacting to this medication like you are. Which is worse? I think you know the answer is to stop taking the medication.
