I'm Persian and I've been living outside Iran my entire life.
So I'm fluent in both languages. ( plus two others :D )
Anyways, the meanings would be:
hello/hi --> سÙاÙ
and you would read it "salaam"
thank you --> Ù
تشکرÙ
