Hey...Im 13 years old and I'm about 5 foot 7 or 8. I weigh 96 pounds - about 43 kilograms. Everyone says I'm too thin but I think I actually need to lose a bit of weight. I eat all healthy foods and eat at the right times and everything like that but people call me anorexic. Am I or not? x
Thanks

If you're eating well and healthily then don't listen to what anyone says hun. Just be happy with your body the way it is. You're only 13 so you've still got a lot of growing and developing to do. I'm sure your fine, don't try to lose weight! :) x

Yes your too thin. I am 5 foot 4 and used to weigh 50kg, and I was a size uk 6.
I was working in a bar at the time, and a customer said 'look at the state of you, you need to put some weight on don't you'.
I was so upset, I ran off crying.

I think yo may have a eating problem if you think that your too thin, and you need to talk to someone about it. Reasons why, your periods will stop, your hair will fall out, your nails will break, your breath will smell, you will get spots, you become infertile, your insides could start to shut down,you may die.

I used to have a slight eating problem when I was 14. (I lost that weight as I mentioned above as I was working a lot and going through a hard time, which was mainly stress).

You need to speak to someone professional. See your GP, and explain your worries with eating.

Don't be afraid.

I am a healthy 25 year old weighing 8 and half stone with curves to match and loving it :-)

If I tell you that my 10 year old son, (height 5 ft and average build) already weighs more than you, do you understand why people are concerned? You are very very slim and if you seriously think that you need to lose any more weight, then you honestly need to seek medical help before it becomes a major issue. The people who care enough to tell you they are worried are right- and I think deep down that you know that otherwise you wouldn't be on here looking for someone to tell you different. Talk to your family or an adult that you trust, and seek some help with your views about your body and food please. Your future will be very unhappy if you don't deal with this soon. Take care.

honey you are a little underweight for your height but at 13 your still growing and have just entered puberty & your weight, hormones etc will be all over the place for a while. Tell people to stop going on at you as you eat healthily & your body will sort itself out as you grow up. Just make sure you eat well, take in plenty of vitimins via food & calcium is essential in growing girls. Whatever you do don't diet you don't need to.

Yes, you have a very low BMI (15) Less than 18.5 is considered underweight. The fact that you think you need to lose a bit of weight worries me. Perhaps you should check in with your doctor to make sure.

Yeah, you are definitely underweight for your height. Please don't try to lose weight!

If you are actually overweight you will be able to tell when you see rolls of fat in all the wrong places! Until then you are just fine the way you are. Actually, you need to gain some.

96 pounds is to skinny for someone 5'1 so im sure its pretty bad for your height. but if your eating healthy your fine! plus your 13 so your still growing. =}
