It really annoys me when people say this I own 2 Staffies and they have lived in harmony for 8 years together and loves other dogs .To me it's the actual dog and not the breed that should be looked at .I tend not to listen any more as I find it blind ignorance :)

Some Staffies get on with other dogs but some don't.

I run a boarding kennels & the majority of SBTs I get in are dog aggressive.
This doesn't mean the majority of Staffies are dog aggressive, it means that the people who own dog friendly ones are more likely to either take them on holiday or have a friend look after them instead of kenneling.
In the same vein, all the ones you know are probably the ones that get taken where they are likely to meet other dogs. Responsible owners who know their dog doesn't tolerate other dogs don't put them in a situation where other dogs may approach & cause an incident.
I have a pair in at the moment, absolute sweeties with people but the male would kill another male dog given the chance.

Yeah its pretty unfair really, sort of prejudice in my books!
But just like Rotti's and Pitbulls and Doberman, and a few others the media sensationalizes everything!! I have only ever met great Staffies, wonderful loving goofy pitbulls,
big couch potato rotti's and Doberman's that have saved lives. You never hear about that stuff...only the bad as usual.
I really am beginning to hate paying attention to any media.
Although I do have to say I think it is deplorable when people keep such dogs and train them in such a manner to be anything but GREAT dogs!! But I think more people need to realize that ALL dogs from Golden Retrievers (the BEST dog-winkwink) to poodles and Great Danes are DOGS!! and have the potential no matter how wonderful they are to bit and nip and "attack" and have that "pack' mentality (well duh)
All Dogs that are abused, neglected, treated unfairly and cruelly or are in pain or sick can and will strike out NOT just the Staffies and Rotti's and Pitties of the world.

I can't really say an answer to your question but People are messed up ....and the more people I meet the more I like my dogs.

The people who say that are morons. They obviously don't have any experience with the breed. My grandma's neighbor has 3 Staffies and they all get along really well. The only think one of the male Staffies doesn't like are cats!

people just make assumptions based on their own experience whatever that may be so they might have had one bad run in with that breed of dog and then go round slagging off the breed which is pathetic because its the owners responsibility to control a dog and any dog can be friendly or viscious it all depends how its brought up. my dogs were attacked by a staff but they gave as good as they got and i dont slag off staffies because the majority i come across are very playful towards other dogs

I know. I am a dog breeder, and had staffies living with me for nearly 20 years from being a child, it is complete and utter shite, (exuse the language, and spellings, lol)
People who say this probably don't even own a dog, never mind a staffie. Look at my last question, named: 'Stupid idiots' get in touch if u like... dog_focus_uk@yahoo.co.uk

Sorry Guys and Girls. My Staffie loves children, and people but I believe she would eat another dog. Don't say I raised her wrong, I got her from the animal shelter as a rescue dog. She will be the only one you will hear about from the media though.

some can some cant just like any other breed but lets not forget these dogs where breed to fight in wooden pits with other dogs of similar weight and size. and where also used for bull baiting where the bull is chained up and the dog then attacks it by biting its nose and hangs on until the bull falls to the grounds so its not surprising some dislike other dogs.its inbreed and before anyone says anything i have owned staffs for 15 years and have 4 myself

all dogs can get along with eachother, it all depends on the dogs nature and how the dog has been brought up.
