No, Christine, not like the Hebraic Satan, which is the opposite of God. Other religions have symbols of negative attitudes, but none as total as the Devil. That role for Satan only arose in the Middle ages, when the role of women in society was being reduced - some in the church even claimed that women do not have souls. There was quite a debate about it for a long time.
The church had decided that there had to be a balance against God so Satan was chosen to be the bunny. Before that, the name was of some obscure person or persons.

Judaism does not claim Satan is a separate entity. Satan means Advesary or Accuser. Obviously Jesus didn't view Satan as separate, he called Peter Satan.

Zoroastrian didn't believe in the devil. also am not sure about Judaism.

Beacuase they are all just variaions on a simple theme, black and white, good and evil, etc. You need to head east to find anyhting thoughtfull.

I think so - they have to invent them to account for why their supposedly benevolent god presides over a world of such horror and evil and suffering.

Buddhism doesn't even have a god of any kind.
And there are probably many others. Wicca, for example.
