Unfortunately he might be just being really friend with you. As for your point number three it could be just because he's not sure how to say no properly without making you feel less special. But then again there's always that chance ... :)

No straight answer is not a good sign. Is she more of his friend or your friend? If she's good friends with him and he still wouldn't give her a straight answer then I'd say he just wants to be friends. But if she's your friend then I can see why he wouldn't give her an answer.
But you have the right idea, you need inside information. Try to get a mutual friend that you both trust to get some information from him. Not like direct, has to be slick about it and slide into a conversation or something.

Yes, I think he do like you, why don't you juz ask him, that's the best way to know. Boys are very shy when it comes to this kind of things. And if he says YES then you tell him u feel the same too. But if he says NO...then you just have to accept the fate, but at least you woudn't feel shy cos u didn't tell him you like him.
