Yes I to have had anxiety and have had negative thinking cloud my judgement. If you are having suicidal thoughts you need to get to Dr. as soon as possible, or if you are having homicidal thoughts get help now. During stressfull times our brain can react with some very unusual thoughts, remember these are just thoughts, don't act upon them. Tell your Dr what you are feeling, and start a journal, express yourself through words not actions. Best of luck to you.

hmmm well if by bad thoughts you mean for example thoughts that you might hurt someone, although you know you're not the sort of person who would do that and the thoughts upset you, this can be a symptom of OCD. It's called pure O, you have thoughts but not compulsions.
Here is an excerpt from the ocduk website
"The anxiety disorder Pure Obsessional OCD, commonly referred to as ‘Pure O’ by sufferers, is a form of OCD that is distinct from traditional OCD in that it features no outward manifestations; instead, both the anxiety-inducing obsessions and the relief-seeking compulsions of OCD take place only in the mind.
With ‘standard’ OCD, the compulsions manifest as physical rituals, for example excessive hand-washing, checking or cleaning. With ‘Pure O’, the compulsions manifest as unseen mental rituals, but they are compulsions nonetheless, which is why the term ‘Pure O’ is somewhat imprecise.
An example of ‘Pure O’ would be a person who suffers with distressing blasphemous thoughts or someone who fears harming or abusing loved ones but does not engage in any overt compulsive rituals."
go on the forum there if you think you might have it and tell them about your problems, they've heard everything on there before and won't judge you. They know that the thoughts aren't your fault. However talk to your psychotherapist about it,cos its always dangerous to diagnose yourself.

yes i do. I have anxiety and PTSD and I have horrible thoughts but i know I would never act on them. I think everyone has bad thoughts in their head , the important thing, i know, is you can't act on them. The best way to stop these thoughts is try to think about something else that is good. Maybe even Hum a church song. sounds lame but it helps.

no but some medications can cause some very bad thoughts
you need to tell the doctor just in case its the medication
causing it
but for now try thinking of different happy thoughts even though you may have to force yourself to think of happy things & listen to only happy music not sad love songs
take care of yourself
