It is scam. Yahoo (insert any company name here, this answer works for all!) do not run a lottery, if they did you could guarantee it would be advertised all over their home page. Check out these links and search answers to see how many people 'win' the exact same lottery every day
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/lottery_sca...
http://www.hoax-slayer.com/email-lottery-scams.html
Do not click on any links, the page you will be taken to will look authentic but is not
Do not send them a 'courier fee' or any other money
Do not hand over any bank details or passwords
Do report spam
Do delete
Remember there is no such thing as a free lunch. You cannot win a lottery if you havenot bought a ticket.
(I've answered this question so many times that I now keep this answer on my desktop and just copy and paste....that should give you a clue!)

1. Do you think MSN and Yahoo would have a combined company? They are competitors.
2. Did you enter this contest?
3. Ever hear of the phrase, too good to be true?
4. There are very strict laws governing lotteries in the states, I can't imagine an international lottery is legal here.
5. Don't fall for the spam and report it to yahoo! and mark it so the address is ignored in the future.

Please use a bit of common sense, if it is to good to be true delete it. Did you enter a competition? Why would a lottery ticket be drawn in London and pay out in dollars.
Try and get in touch with the organisers via e - mail
Good luck.

Probably not. I'd be very wary of any such notifications online or through the telephone. Especially if you did not enter one. Most of them are scams looking for personal information to get access into your accounts.

Scam. Destroy and any further notifications of this type. There are hundreds going the rounds under different titles and all of them are after one thing and that is money FROM YOU.
