It does not let the carbon monoxide come out of the tail pipe or the air to properly flow so it will stall the car.

you know i just saw this on tv toda and it shoots out and that is if the tail pipe is big enough to fit the banna everything happens in the movies but it aint true

Actually, a potato works best. If inserted enough to stop the exhaust from leaving the engine, the engine can no longer intake the mixture of fuel and air it needs to run properly.
