I've been seeing someone for a very long time who happens to be married. After everytime we spend time together I feel so much guilt. I always acknowledge that I have sinned and I pray for forgiveness.

Actually ! you don't.
When you commit a sin a realise it, and ask for mercy, u might be forgiven, but if you repaet the offense, i think the forgiveness is not given.
If u r asking for mercy and repaetining the offense then how u expect forgiveness, since u r do the some sin over and over,
the best way to get mercy/ forgiveness will be that , form bottom of ur heart u ask repent ur sins and dont do them again. Human make mistakes and do sins, that human nature but repeating it after knowning might not be acceptable to god.

We all knowingly sin. We have to acknowledge that. Pray for the power to do God's will. Remember, you are not hurting God, but yourself and others. God forgives and you can know that, because His Word says so. You are trapped and ask God to help you overcome this if that is what you want. If you don't want God's will, remember He will forgive you when you truly want to do His will..
Faith in God means we do HIS will not ours. Ask God for the strength and desire to do that. God bless.

The key here is that you are saying "knowingly sin" - if you know you are sinning, don't you think God knows that as well? God knows what your future holds and he is just waiting for you to genuinely repent and to turn away from your sins. The other thing you need to keep in mind is: You will reap what you sow/what goes around, comes around. God Bless!!

TANK... MOST PEOPLE WOULD FEEL WHAT YOUR DOING IS WRONG. HOWEVER MOST DONT KNOW THE SITUATION. ONLY YOU TWO DO. WHAT YOUR SOING IS COMMITTING A SIN BUT IF YOU ARE BOTH TRUELY HAPPY AND AS I SAID SOME DAY YOU BOTH WILL BE TOGETHER THAN I DONT THINK YOU HAVE AN ISSUE. IF YOU ASK FOR FORGIVENESS AND TRUELY MEAN IT AND EVEN THOUGH U CONTINUE TO DO THIS ONLY U KNOW WHY SO IF U FEEL ITS THE RIGHT THING FOR BOTH OF YOU GOD WOLD NOT MAKE TWO PEOPLE FALL IN LOVE AND NOT LET THEM BE TOGETHER. I THINK HE UNDERSTANDS!

Let me get this straight, you pray for forgiveness, but you still go see someone that is married? In what fashion? For work? For friendship? If it's romantically then you need to get real.... homewrecker.

I don't think forgiveness works if you keep on committing the sin for which you are asking forgiveness for.

Don't get so up-tight about it. The rules of religion are man made. All religions sell fear and then offer a solution to the fears that they have instilled within you. They themselves don't go by the rules that they have made for the followers. Just be a good person and you have nothing to worry about.

You are going to have to ask Christ to take that sin from you. Your spirit can't grow until you do. This I know from personal experience, very similar to yours.

PS: He will help you find the perfect solution to this dilemma

at the end of the day religion and spirituality is so abstract.. the only thing you can do is get the mindset that "well I'd like to hope I was forgiven for my sins" but you never really know.. minus all of the I was really sorry for what I did mess
