when you're trying to read something and help someone out and they spell things like
"dat" "lyke" "myne" and whatnot, it gets annoying. If you're trying to be serious and ask a question, then ask it properly. It's just a pet peeve to people, I guess.
I could understand if they had a few spelling errors such as "taht" for "that" but when it's like some of above, then I can see why people get irritated.

I'm sorry but I think that you are 'very wrong' about this. Most people COULD SPELL CORRECTLY, and they could also 'use proper grammar' when they write their 'questions' and their 'answers' here, if they would only take the time to 'read over it' before they hit the 'send' button. I am an 'excellent speller' but I frequently hit the 'Check Spelling' in the corner of the answer box, if I'm not 'sure' about the proper spelling of the word. Good spelling and good grammar are what makes 'communication' possible ... without BOTH it can be totally IMPOSSIBLE to tell what the question being asked wants. THINK ABOUT IT.

I can understand why some people do say it, even though I don't.
1. When you post a question, there's a spell checker at the bottom.
2. Sometimes the spelling and grammar are so atrocious, no one can understand what the person is trying to ask.
3. Since we're only able to communicate on here through text, for the message to get through clearly, the posters would have to understand what the asker wants. Normally, in face-to-face interaction, you can tell by someone's body language, voice inflection and/or eye contact.

Well a few typos in a post are understandable, but...and this is a HUGE BUT when it seems that a person is either so lazy or so dumb that they don't know how to properly use the English language, It simply renders any meaningful discourse with them futile
Why should I waste my time articulating the finer points of a given question when the fifteen total morons above me lik 2 speel lik dis? It's the domain of the lower class chimp brained stoner wannabe dumbarse.
You want to engage in an activity that uses the written word as its principle means of communication? Then learn to use it right or go chatt0rs wit ur haxx0rs 1337 po$$e...
But yeah, typos...pish...we all do it.

Seriously, it is bothersome to read something with so many spell errors.. As for me the information is enough.. I really don't care much about spelling.. But it is irritating at times.

To be able to spell correctly, shows at least a modicum of intelligence. It also helps in communicating the exact meaning of the text to the reader thereby avoiding any ambiguity.

It is my problem if you are asking a question and I can't read a word of it. I mean they have a damn spell check button! How lazy can a person be?

lol, some people really need to feel better about themselves. I am a poor speller, I have always had a problem with it. There is a chance that I am slightly dyslexic, though I am good at things like word scrambles.
