Try working some simple exercise into your current routine. Park your car further away from your work, get up 20 minutes earlier and take a walk in the morning, suggest active things to do with friends rather than just hanging out at the pub. It's easier to start with exercise than dieting, exercise makes you feel good and will send you on the right path. Then you can start in on fixing up your eating habits.

It's really all about eating right and getting at least a little bit of exercise.
If it's possible stay away from refined sugars and processed foods. If you stick with whole grain products, eat your veggies, and eat mostly lean proteins then you're on the right path. Don't deny yourself, that's a surefire way to sabotage your diet, but also don't overindulge. Basically, just use your common sense when it comes to choosing which foods you eat and how much of them you eat.
Exercise is also very important, if you're busy, find ways in your daily schedule to burn a few extra calories. Even 10 extra minutes of physical activity on most days will help.
I've personally had weight issues as well, and I've found that no fad diet works, there is no quick fix, you might lose a bit at first, but then it comes back. The way I've lost weight, kept it off, and gotten a lot more healthy is by choosing healthy foods, cooking at home instead of eating out, and never denying myself of something I really want (I still typically end my night with a cup of chai and a couple cookies). Exercise is also very important for my personal weight management. If I'm traveling a short distance I ride my bicycle or walk, I take stairs instead of elevators, and I also have a yoga ball and do 20-30 minutes of exercises with that about 4-5 nights a week with a good dvd workout from gaiam.
Losing weight the right way is really about patience, and lifestyle changes. You need to make a conscious decision to make those changes and stick with them.
Good luck!

if you ar eworking hard then use the diet that I used, you can take the products in to work so you can lose weight quickly and safely. if losing some pounds of any description and inches is what you want then I would suggest you use a diet that is all natural and is rich in protein and vitamins, which is what the FDA recommends. I used a protein based diet after a friend who had lost a lot of weight with this recommended it to me. All the way through you feel great and energized, you also get great coaching and support along the way. The people are very friendly and gave me lots of great advice. I needed to lose 40 pounds and I did so with no problems. The products really work and you feel great whilst losing weight. I lost all my weight in less than four months and they have helped me to keep it off. I would definitely recommend using them. My sister did this also and lost 76 pounds in five months (She works out, I don’t). There is no pressure and they will even send you a load of free samples so you can try before you buy. The samples were the thing that initially convinced me that this was the right diet for me. You also a get a free complete health consultation with the samples, I just paid the postage and handling, but for what I got it was well worth it. You just to go to myhealthabc.com to register your details to get the free samples and the free advice etc and then they just call you up and ask you a few questions. It was so easy. Their main site is www.myhealthabcmall.com and you can see all the products and packages and order from their. Its nice to have contact with real people who care about you losing weight and improving your health. I am in better health now than I have ever been thanks to these products and I know that I will continue to keep the weight off with the help I have received. I hope this helps.

The key to your problem is working in your work out! For example, park farther away from stores or work so you have to walk. Do strength exercises while you sit at your desk or in traffic. Hold your tummy in for 1 minute, let it out, repeat until you're tired (or bored). Resistence training is another easy method you can try - bands for this are inexpensive and easy to carry around. While you wait in line at the supermarket, go up and down on your tip toes to strengthen your calves. Even if you walk fast for ten minutes three times a day, you are still giving your heart and other muscles a chance to work harder, and that should show results. Trouble is, it takes time, and that is why people become frustrated and go back to their old, unmotivated ways. Of course, you have to curb your appetite as well. Take smaller portions, eat slower, put a naked picture of yourself on your fridge - whatever it takes to make you eat healthy. Once you get into the swing of your new routine, you will find yourself much happier with more energy and a healthy physique everyone will look at!
