Well some people call them love bites. some people think that they are showing eachother how much the care but they are just showing the world how much they care.

Because necks are erogenous zones and it's arousing to have them kissed, licked or sucked.
Mostly though, people recieve/give hickeys for the sake of attention. It's a glaring sign that you got laid, which is always a good thing.

I like them but not where they can be seen in public. It's an adolecent thing some people never get over. I do it when I'm in silly moods.

Personally I don't like to receive them because I'd rather not have the marks on me. and I don't really like to give them either. I will "suck" on my b/f's neck, but I try not to give him any.

I always thought they were like "tagging" your partner to show possession..
I hate them.. Why on earth would anyone want to get a "bruise" deliberately?.... ugly and slutty looking..

only immature, and insecure people give hickey's. and only people with no future would recieve one. it shows a lack of intelligence and decision making. If any of my employees came to work wwith a hickey it would be their last day employed at my dealership. I only want leaders with good decision making skills working for me not immature children who think tacky is kool.

i don't, but from what i've heard: to mark them as 'taken'/a possession. to experience light pain. some ppl find it an arousing activity.

people who are teens usually do this, to show off that they have a boyfriend/girlfriend. Showing everyone that they are "getting some" as well.
