Feeding a supplement of chondroitin, glucosamine, and MSM will very likely help your dog.
here is an excellent one that I highly recommend. If you read the testimonials, they are genuine..they make similar formulas for humans, so you might find one locally at your herbal shop..just be careful that what you choose doesn't include aspirin. > http://springtimeinc.com/product/94/2

Do not use aspirin unless under the advice of a veterinarian as aspiring can thin the blood and prevent blood clotting which can be very dangerous if you pet already has clotting issues, it can also cause severe problems should you pet ever need surgery so a vet needs to be in the know

As chetco recommended glucosamine, chondroitin and MSM can be extrremely helpful, it is not necessary to use only ones made for pets, you can use the ones sold for humans but stick with brand names, the lower grade ones often contain a lot of fillers

I use Knox Gelatin and assorted vitamins. Knox is the best and easy to give them. I have had so many problems with joint issues and fluidity of movement, I looked into it extensively. Knox is the best thing for dogs. There was nothing 'homemade' that would work for them both for pain and movement. Good luck!!! DOGS RULE!!!
