what if u met someone far away(across the country) and u like them,does it ever really work?any one with experience please tell me if worked or not?thanks.

I was in a long distance relationship myself and it worked out! But there are certain rules you have to follow.

No , not usually. You really need to be able to spend alot of time actually being together. The phone and emails dont cut it, unless there is a long term plan that one of you two will be moving to be with the other. I tried it for 2 years... it was frustrating, nad heart breaking in the end. You just can not know who the other person is long distance. You might even find he likes it long distance because he has another life that he doesnt want you to know about.

have you heard the song by The Beegees, "Sad Eyes" that will tell you enough. what if the guy across the country had another intrest, your far away, you cant keep a relationship like that. and theres a big difference from talking to someone on the phone or computer then you actually being with the person.

Not usually, but if both people are really committed to the relationship (okay ,as long as it's not online, that's a no no) and want to make things work, and completly trust eachother and it's not long term separation (over 3-6 months) then it should work.
Ask whoever it is if they SERIOUSLY want to go through being in a long distance relationship and not take it as just a joke.

Yes, long distant relationships can work out. I know, because my best friend, she met a guy in Florida on vacation and she lived in New York. They kept in touch through emails, phone calls, and letters. They even visited each other a couple times. They eventually married and have been married for a year now. Good luck with it. If it is meant to be, it will happen.

The key to keeping a LDR alive is to stay in touch...talk about absolute anything, text message each other about something small or amusing you just saw (a butterfly, a funny looking person...anything!) email each other, call each other , snail mail each other little cards, trinkets or just a small note on a post-it telling each other that they'r cute/u love them, etc. If you can afford to, courier each other gifts on occassions you'll are not celebrating together....
LDR's work if u do a bit of work!!

Me and hubby had a long distance relationship. I'm from Southern California, and him West Midlands, England. Three years of us both travelling back and forth, just recently married. They can work. It took alot of committment on both parts.

I can't answer for everyone, but I've been in a few, and no, they didn't work out.Its much better to be with the one you love.

actually im in your shoe rite now!me and my fiance is 8months engage and palning to get married soon we got home!im in saudi shes in canada!and we plan to set a place wer we want to build our family!its just a matter f trust understanding care and more love and faith!to survive it but communication build it more stronger!
if your willing to work it and if you think its wothy it eventually fallen it to places wer you wish it to put.
