Your friend shouldnt be mad at you. He/she decided to stand up for you, they should've known that there might have been some consequences for doing so, especially if your teacher is a jackass.

Tell your friend to go to hell. He was the one who decided to stick up for you, which is what friends should do. He doesn't have any right to be angry at you.
