First of all let me start by telling you I'm a hair dresser and help clients all the time successfully with this situation. What you want to do is decide if you have the oily kind of dandruff in which you can use Solve shampoo by Redken or the dry kind in which there are alot more out there for you such as TeaTree shampoo and conditioner by Paul Mitchell or American Crew has their own tea tree shampoo. Use the dandruff shampoo for a week and then use a mild shampoo such Shampoo One by Paul Mitchell. If you use the dandruff shampoo every day it has a tendency to dry out your hair and scalp causing more dandruff and irritation. When the dandruff returns use the dandruff shampoo for a week again and then the mild one and so forth. This should control your dandruff. If it doesn't heal you can see a dermatologist for an evaluation and suggestions on what to do for a more severe case.

A few remedies that you can try at home are:

- Apply coconut oil on your scalp and leave it for an hour. After an hour, apply lemon juice and massage your scalp. Leave it on for another hour, and then shampoo your hair with a mild shampoo. This will leave your hair shiny and without any dandruff flakes.
- Take an egg, beat it and apply on the scalp and leave it for an hour. Shampoo your hair and you will find that the dandruff has disappeared.
- If you have mild dandruff, applying coconut oil daily for a few days, will rid you of the condition.
- Wash you hair with beer. The alcohol in the beer is known to clear the dandruff on your scalp.
- You can also try massaging your scalp with vinegar (if you can stand the smell) and then wash it with a mild shampoo.

i've had dandruff too before.
Dab on a piece of cotton a vinegar. spread it all over scalp. Leave for 30 minutes.
You may also want to check internet the benefits of vinegar if you're in doubt.
I've tried this and now i'm totally dandruff free.
You may also combine with it the virgin coconut oil and the newly launch vaseline anti-dandruff shampoo which has true dandruff fighting substance in it.
Avoid frequent and direct exposure to sun, if possible, use umbrella or cap.
also, do not directly put gel or styling products onto your scalp. dandruffs are a result of continuous build up of dirt caused by styling products, perspiration, air pollution and sun exposure.
Stay healthy!

Apply for half an hour before the head-bath [kanji] the water drain from the cooked rice, using boiled rice, this is the best remedy. Can also apply curd on alternate days befor the head-bath. But nothing can be equal to kanji.
Do not use others comb, actually dandruff spreads also from others.
Do not keep your skin dry, take head bath atleast twice and apply coconut oil.
Dandruff can be the cause for many diseases, like neck pain, etc. Watch-out.
Tips; you may also consult Maddy for this.

If you haven't tried head n shoulders shampoo, I would suggest that first. They have expanded their line of shampoo's so there is more of a variety.

If that doesn't work for you, there are "medicated" shampoos for more serious dandruff. Walgreens or other drugstores should have them you just have to look. If not, ask your hair styler or just any hair styler and they will be able to recommend something to you however it will be more expensive. You might want to also look into a scalp treatment that you can use often that will prevent dandruff.
