When they quote from the Qu'ran, they say "oh that's the truth", regardless if it's out of context or not.
But when I quote from the Bible, they say "Hey that's out of context", gee, isn't it?
When I tried to explain to them that the verses was out of context, they won't believe me. What's the word for that.......hmmm....ignorance? Or was it...selective information distribute....or something.

Well just for your information, there is a lot of Christians out there uses verses from the Qu'ran about times of war and how to fight enemies. They only quote the "kill them" part but totally ignore the "if they attack" and "during times of war part".
Gee, what am I suppose to do when someone tries to kill me, sit still and let them?
Wait, that's suicide.......let me check on my book about that.
[2:195] You shall spend in the cause of GOD; do not throw yourselves with your own hands into destruction. You shall be charitable; GOD loves the charitable.
[ 4:29] O you who believe, do not consume each others' properties illicitly - only mutually acceptable transactions are permitted. You shall not kill yourselves. GOD is Merciful towards you.
[ 4:30] Anyone who commits these transgressions, maliciously and deliberately, we will condemn him to Hell. This is easy for GOD to do.
Hmmm...suicide is a no no, so, would I.....fight back? Duh.

The phenomenon you are describing is far and away not limited to Christians. People are in general more receptive to bad information if it supports their already extant point of view, but will use more scrutiny when it comes to things they disagree with. Anyone who uses this double standard can be accused of this, not just Christians.

Probably because a lot of the verses that I see on here are taken out of context. It will come from a senerio, and a later verse will refer to an earlier verse. People will take the later verse and make it stand on its own, and it makes no sense. I'm sure that this happens with the quran too, but I'm not validating the quran.

Thank you very much for this question and your additions for reference!
I believe that the people that you are referring to are very manipulated. They interpret their bible the same way and were taught this by pastors and the like. This is not rational thought nor is it spiritual!
We are coming to a very horrific point in our history. Fanatics and the dogma they follow are cultivated by evil minds with a lust for violence and power. They may wear the cloth of holy men and women (said symbolically) but their hearts are full of deception. The religion or belief is irrelevent. They can put on any robe.
Peace through knowledge and understanding!
Please continue!

The correct word for them is completely 'blindfolded' in every sense.
The first thing to happen for every baby born in a Moslem's family is peonouncing the 'Azzan' (moslem's call to pray)
Then HE will be circumcised at the early growth if HIS pubic hair; A closed PACT with their deity;
Before that, they learned how to perform the 5-time prayer, preceded by washing every part of the body (THIS SYMBOLIZES SANCTIFICATION OF THE ORGANS) which determine the activity of the body (ironically, not HIS sexual organ, and you know already the long-term result.)
Those sanctification processes are parts of the COMPLETE PACT with their deity, resulting in a totally 'blindfolded' personality! They will reject every proposal or idea coming from outsider!
That is why, I will not try to convert them through theological dialogue, since repentance is solely the work of Holy Spirit!
We'd better pray for them such that the Holy Spirit will touch them at the right moment.
Beware and be blessed.

they are actually not Jews because of the fact Jew's do not have confidence the messiah has come yet. they don't have confidence Jesus so believing in Jesus and asserting your Jewish needless to say contradicts one yet another.... it rather is unhappy that there are those Evangelist Christians that decision themselves "Jews". end this custom now, your disgracing the two Judaism and Christianity.

Exactly---good point!!---Christians love citing barbaric verses from the Quran--but try citing the genocide, murder, torture & rape from the Bible and it's always either "out of context"--or "you have to be filled with the Holy Spirit before you can understand"---geeeeze---give me a break!!!

If you're gonna take something out of context then make sure it's out of context! If you're going to call someone ignorant then first make sure you're not the one being ignorant.

It's political correctness run amuck. "Let's make sure we don't trample anyone else values while we abandon our own!" The backlash of all this is going to be appocolyptic in magnatude.
