Your friends step dad must love the movie Red-Dawn. That is is the only place i have ever seen or heard of that. How DUMB is that? I have hunted since I was 12 years old and the only traditions i have heard of are rubbing a small amount of deer blood on your cheek or if you miss cutting off your shirt tale. Real hunters don't drink DEER BLOOD. Tell your friends step dad to stop watching RED-DAWN!!!!!!

My nephew just killed his first deer at age 10. I beat him by killing one at age 9. My family and friends are all hunters. It is ridiculous to say deer hunters drink deer blood. Is this a joke? I am not amused!

some people watch to many movies and get the wrong idea. The first thing is your adrenaline has to go down and then you fell sad for the deer, then the hard part of it starts. gutting and dragging it

Ha, ha, ha. Where do people get these notions from! Of course NOT. You EAT the heart and liver roasted over a slow fire. EVERYONE knows THAT! LOL!
Seriously, NO. That smacks of some African rite dealing with entering Manhood by killing your first Lion. I'm not even sure THAT is right.

first of all, do you know how many deer carry diseases?? Second of all, that is disgusting and completely un-hygenic. I'm a hunter and i've never heard of that.

No, one does not have to do this, nor is it recommended. I have known those who smeared a small amount onto their face like you would see in movies.
