I've been prety moody lately. Thinking how awkward my social life was in High school and how it set me up to be the person I am today. I was the scruffy looking guy out of the whole bunch. I was a scrawny 95 lbs weakling with a messed up haircut. No girls would have dated me back then. My family's economic status plus my parents over protective nature and their lack of understanding about the importance of teenage social life didn't help either. Now in my mid 20s, I want to find a decent girl to get into a relationship with, I find it difficult. Finding the currage to ask for a phone # is extremely painful. The few dates that I've gone on, I went on with girls who are either psycho or are either thinking of me as a rebound. The dates what I'm interested in, I dont' know how to keep it hott and interesting. A 14 yr old can probably make better moves than I do. I'm only begining to fumble and learn what most people fumble through in teenage years. Oh..This cruel world!!!!!!

The world is not cruel and you are not inept you're just new to this phase of life. Not every girl in the world had a sparkling social life in high school there are many who are in your same boat. Just beginning to take those steps into the social world. Give yourself a break and start looking for someone who was like you and help each other build social skills. Treat her with patience and she will do the same for you. You may find your soul mate very quickly if you are just a little patient, with yourself and the ladies in your life. Personally, I find a shy man far more attractive than one with all the moves that say he has had and dumped many ladies previously. Believe me that does not make a guy very attractive.

I think you need to break out of the shell that was created for you when you were in your teens.. I'm sure there are people out there who share your interests.. Try and find people who do, if you like reading join a book club, that kinda thing.. I used to eat lunch alone in school, now I find it hard to find time for myself, I got into music and now I have too many friends.. Lol.. Hang in there! The world is not cruel, you're just looking at it from the wrong side!

first, stop with the self pity. I understand you had it difficult, but it won't do you any good, and it chases women away. Second, learn to at least like yourself. Stop being your own worst enemy, and be good to yourself. Find new styles you like, find things you enjoy, find ways to reward yourself for who you are as a person.
Life is not a sprint, it's a marathon. Get started in becoming who you want to be before you end up going for another psycho and putting yourself even deeper into the self pity.
If you build it (yourself), They (women) will come.

Like betty said, have more confidence in yourself. And no worries, I know quite a few women, including myself, who prefer the shy, awkward men. Keep your chin up. :)

may be she is elsewhere. go to another world, another place, another country. may be it's where you'll find her, the one who will accept and love you of who you are, not of what you are.
