You can by a toilet mat or spray from pets shops, it has a smell in it which the dogs know to go to the toilet on the mat,
place it near the back door, and when the dog gets used to it, put it outside so the dog then knows to go outside to the toilet.
This is what we used when we used to have a dog, to get him toilet trained.
Good Luck with the toilet training.

Poor you, your sister has been a bit mean in expecting you to look after a dog that isn't toilet trained. You don't say how old the dog is? so I'm assuming it is full grown and not still a young puppy. In either case the training is the same, after the dog has eaten, woken up or just finished playing take it in the garden, use a word/words such as 'be quick' or 'go wee wees' I use the first, and as soon as it 'performs' give it praise, but don't be too OTT, praise calmly, repeat this process when you get downstairs in the morning, when you get in from the shops etc and also a few times in between, don't come in from the garden until you have seen the dog go to the toilet, this is where a lot of people go wrong, if you find it has had an accident in the house do not scold it in any way, just take it in the garden and tell it to be quick or whatever, then calmly clean up any mess, the dog won't remember doing it so you would be telling it off for greeting you, so it would become fearful of you, if on the other hand you catch it in the act then just say a very firm NO and immediately take it out in the garden.
I wish you luck and I think you should give your sister a bill for dog training when you see her! HA!

DO NOT punish the dog if you come in after he has gone. He won't understand why you are punishing him unless you punish him within 2 seconds of him doing it. He will simply think you are a mean person. Important things about newspaper or mat techniques is don't put these near any objects as the dog will actually associate those with going to the toilet not what he's on. Also take him on a walk on a day you've got free and don't come back until he's been. As soon as he goes give him a treat (within 2 seconds remember). Lastly, when your sister comes back, tell her to keep doing that herself or to find someone else to look after the thing next time. Consistency is the key to dog training.
This is actually advice as given by both a professional trainer (he trains police dogs so he knows his stuff) and an Animal Psychologist who has a PhD and everything.

its not called toilet training that is very dificult, its called house breaking. all you do is simply tell it a stern NO! If you dont see the dog do its buisness in the house dont just pick it up, drag the dog to the poo, or pee, and make the dog smell it then again say a stern "NO!" After a while of doing this the dog will learn.

Hey
If it goes on the carpet and you catch it say 'NO" right away and pick it up, even if IN the act and put it wherever u want it to GO. Like newspaper, litterbox, outside. Then say "good girl" or "good boy" in a really sweet way. IF it pees say the "good..." again, and give it a treat and pet it happily. I did this for a few days until the dog got the hang of it.
Good luck!

One of the best ways to do this job is lay out news paper in a room that you can leave you pet in over night, or when you leave the house. cover the entire floor. When you return home, check the room and find where your pet did thier deed. Pick up the paper where they did not go, and leave some of the dirty paper on the floor. Place fresh paper around the area of the old used paper, only this time, do not cover the entire floor. Keep this process of elemination going until your pet gets the hang of using only the areas with the paper. OK, that is step 1. This next step will get them to go out side. Oh yeah, Don't forget, Always give your pet positive attention when they make any kind of progress! Rave about it to them! this will let them know they pleased you and beleave me, alittle bit goes a long way with your pet. OK, step 2.Once your pet has the paper thing down, it's time to show them the real toilet! out side!!! First, grab up one of their soiled papers, and place it at the area you want your pet to use out side. Then take your pet out side and play. Keep up the play until you see them start sniffing around for a place to go. Take you pet to the soiled paper you placed in the yard so they can smell that familliar smell they had in the house. This will help them identify the new area to use. Keep the paper training going inside, only to eventually remove the paper from inside completely. By this time, your pet should be well on their way to graduating from potty training! Good luck! And remember, Be patient, and always reward your pet when they deserve it! even if it's a small trivial thing. Your pet wants to do the right thing by you. loosing it with them will create nothing but setbacks. If you want them to do the things that you expect of them, Then take the time to teach it to them, they'll respond better if you treat them with love instead of anger and frustration.

This is difficult, the dog isn't yours so actually you could just give her back to your sister and tell her the reason why.It isn't fair of your sister not to tell you she isn't house trained. There could be other reasons why shes toileting around your house, she could be unsettled about staying with you and as she doesn't know your rules she doesn't realise that she has to go outside.Let her out at regular oppurtunitys and make sure she's beeing walked at least twice a day.Good luck.

I do live in a part of the world that i have never seen a dog use the toilet, but I have seen a dog go out side. You are not going to train the dog in a couple of weeks, so just take it outside.

In any given situation, focus on what you do want your dog to do instead of on whatever he’s doing wrong. Learn how to train your dog https://tr.im/4p1q5
For example, suppose that on many evenings, your young dog gets busy looking for trouble just as you’re digesting your dinner. He grabs a boot from the mat by the front door and gallops through the house with it. You yell at him and take it away. He grabs its mate. You yell and take it away. He heads for the kitchen and starts checking out the counters in case something tasty’s been left behind. You chase him away. And on and on, until you’ve lost your temper and torn out clumps of hair you can ill afford to lose.
