I always wondered. We always assume that latinos would vote for latinos, but that's ignorant on our part. Everyone has an opinion, and wrong is wrong. Would like to hear responses from Latinos against illegal immigration and how you counteract assumptions like these.

Yes, it is hard to be Hispanic and against illegal immigration. Some other Hispanics call you a sell-out or if you have forgotten where your ancestors came from. They expect you think like them and support them. We are not an autonomous body but we have individual minds. The best ways to deal with it is just to ignore it.

I am latin and I am against illegal immigration. It was not a difficult decision to make, immigration laws must be followed by anybody who wants to enter the USA or any other country.
Illegals demands things ,but have no rights for such demands. They say they work hard, well so do I and I bet many americans work hard to feed their families. They say they do jobs that american's won't do, that is a lie. I think Americans would do those jobs if they get a good paycheck, not a few dollars. That is slavery and pro-illegals support that.

I get mad at ignorant people who thinks that because I look the way I look and speak the way I speak, I am illegal. For all those ignorants: I AM A PROUD LATIN WOMAN AND LEGAL IMMIGRANT TO THE USA.

I have a friend who is illegal, she recently got a job in a factory and gets $10.50 and hour, working with another person's papers ( she told me that on the phone 3 days ago).
I also started working with my legal papers, and I get less money. Is that fair? In this case, the illegal gets a little more more than the legal one. I doubt this is the only case. I bet there are many Americans that make like $7 or $8 or $9 per hour and the illegals get more. She also told me that she can go to the hospital to get medical assistance for free because she doesn't have insurance. I have insurance and I bet the hospital is not going to do anything for free with me.
uhh. when is this going to stop?

I'm not Latino, but in Arizona 40% of Latino voters voted in favor of Proposition 200 to limit benefits to illegal immigrants. The heads of the Utah and Illinois chapters of the Minutemen are Latino (at least) and the head of the Latino Minutemen did say that even Latinos who agreed with her sometimes didn't want to be known because they felt it would be hard to be in the Latino community and publicly come out against illegal immigration.

All hearsay, though.

I think the legal American hispanic citizens and legal hispanic immigrants are for the most part very much against illegal immigration because they know it is the illegal immigrants who have caused the animosity towards them, making other people suspect them of possibly being illegal also, just because they are hispanic and because the huge majority of illegal immigrants are from Mexico and Central America. The legal ones know that because they were able to immigrate legally, that it is possible and so there is no excuse for illegal immigration. Legal immigrants and hispanic American citizens also recognize the damage that illegal immigration causes to the country by draining their tax dollars for their social freebies and by depressing wages, etc. There are hispanic members in the Minutemen. I have read postings many, many times on this site by legal immigrants and hispanic American citizens who are very much against illegal immigration and I think they are the majority in their feelings.

I would be 100% against illegal immigration, except we got these people who call us wetbacks and other racial slurs against latinos.

And plus in the eyes of white dude, we are all wetbacks so I feel like if I walk the streets, people will think i'm illegal just for being latino.

so that's why i'm 50/50 in this issue.

It's just a viewpoint. I really wish there were more people like you in the world, who can see past thier own ignorance.
Personally, the illegals just make the legals look bad.

I don't think so. America is a country of free thought and free speech. My very dearest friend (Who I've known since we were five) is hispanic and he's very much so against anti-immigration. His family had to apply for legal citizanship, and he sees that it CAN be done.
