Have Christians forgotten the true meaning behind this sacred holiday? It saddens me to see the mad rush that starts in July, if you've ever worked in retail, for gift giving. I'm just as guilty as the next person. What can we, as Christians, do to bring back the meaning of Christ Mass?

To be utterly honest.....the God most worshiped throughout this world is Money. The date was a holiday for Pagans even before Christians started using the same time frame. However, now the Holiday should be named "Buy things for presents and put yourself in Debt to the Gods of Credit day."

Christ was never in Christmas. Sure, you have it, but in name only. It was a popular festival at the end of the year practiced by pagans. It was Christianized because there were too many people to kill if they didn't.

So I am saying that you can celebrate Christmas if you want to, but don't think that Jesus was ever in the thing. What He said to do in rememberance of Him was Communion. He and his disciples, and the Early Church afterwards was take the bread and the wine in honor of Him.

Christmas became what it is because people that were Christian and are Christian gave the devil some leeway. now it's competitive buying with pressure added. It keeps going down the path of sin, like drugs. It will keep going that way as long as people allow it to rule their lives at the end of the year.

And don't get me started on Easter! lol

Capitalist Country = Capitalist Behaviour. Where are you from?
(FWIW, not all citizens - Christian or not and in any country - are going to be behind efforts "to bring back the meaning of Christ Mass", especially if that means more dogma or it means any real change to the status quo.)
