Italian Guacamole
2 California avocados, about 1 pound
½ Tbsp white wine vinegar
1 Tbsp shredded fresh basil leaves or 1 teaspoon dried
3 Tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
2 Tbsp chopped sun-dried tomato (packed in oil; drained)
2 Tbsp toasted pine nuts
½ tsp salt

Instructions

Coarsely mash (DO NOT PUREE) avocados; stir in vinegar. Fold in remaining ingredients.
Guacamole is best made as close to serving as possible. For short-term storage, seal in an airtight container with a piece of plastic wrap against the surface of the guacamole.

I make a lot of guacamole and I suggest leave the cream or sour cream out, it takes the true flavor away. You want to enjoy the flavor of the avocado and it seasoning that you add to it.

No. The best guacamole is: mashed avocado, finely diced tomato, onion, and Jalapeno Chile. Adjust jalapeno to your taste, it is hot. You need salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste. This is authentic Mexican guacamole. If you want a dip, then add sour cream. Now you have guacamole and guacamole dip. Big difference.

It's simply a matter of choice, some people do while others don't. Try making some and putting some of it to the side, add sour cream or cream cheese to one of the portions and see which one makes you go mmm it's so good!

if it's heavy cream you are speaking of then no. Avocado normally is creamy enough. Putting more liquid would loose the thick texture that is guacamole.

My personal preference is not to add cream or cheese. But a bit of sour cream or some cream cheese tastes good.

Not regular cream. You could add a couple tablespoons of sour cream if you want (however it's not required). It's just a matter of taste.
