You don't say how large your picture is. Believe it or not a great way to do leaves is with rubber bands. Take about 8 rubber bands, not the wide ones, and tie them together tightly in a circle. Snip the ends close to the elastic or whatever you used to tie them. If you are using watercolour, your paint has to be quite thick. Just dip your bands into the paint and dab on to picture. Even if your picture is a large one this is a great way to do bushes.

Depends on what kind of leaves I guess. A fan brush for the fern type or bigger leaves, and a detail brush for the smaller ones.

A round brush. Also, a natural sponge is a great tool to use for leaves.

i like using a stiff fan brush (hog's hair) ~ if my medium is oil or acrylic..
