well the genes come mostly from the hen. she may have laid a mutant, many things can affect the unborn. So the egg hatched a different sort of bird. there had to be a hen to lay the egg, but that doesn't mean the offspring had to be the same as the hen that layed it.

As far as the rooster goes... he's in Florida ...avoiding alimony and child support.
