I stopped dying my hair last year. It is nearly all grown out to a salt and pepper look. I like it a lot but other people say that I should dye it to look younger. Should we always try to look like something other than we are?

I dye my hair right now, but at the first sign of gray, I'm going to let my color grow out. I think gray hair is so pretty. If others don't like it, then tell them they don't have to look at it. That's what I would do.

Good for you People always associate "gray" hair with being old . But I think a person should have their hair anyway they want. I saw a lady I went to school with and she said I finally gave up and just went "salt and pepper" too She used to spend all her time dying her black hair and said enough is enough. If you are really happy with your self your hair color should not matter.

When you see leaves and petals wilted and drooping on a plant, your first instinct would be to cut and trim it. This makes it look beautiful and healthy. Looking younger is only one of the reasons people should dye their white hair, restoring hair color gives you the spirit and confidence of a person in his/her prime and this can help you achieve a lot of things subconsciously. It's been proven that people respond differently to different looks so make the best out of it.

Don't listen those losers, salt and pepper looks fine to me; as a matter of fact people looks funny and pathetic when they have a raven black hair that looks fake and that doesn't match their mature looks. Besides, dyes with all those chemicals are not very healthy stuff.

I've never dyed my hair. I am almost 50 now (in Aug) and have waist length hair (see my avatar for how I wear it), I began going grey in my 20's and I like it. It is kind of streaky now but I think it's cool. Never try to be something you aren't. It just lessens you. Can you see yourself with gorgeous brown hair when you are 90? No. You would look stupid. Another thought, why do I have to have an avatar with brown hair. There are NO avatars to pick with grey hair....HEY Yahoo!....WAKE UP, some of us are not young and perfect and do not care to BE SO.........gggrrrrr.... (sorry about the tantrum there, must be menopause....LOLOLOL)

While I agree with you, it's because many people feel going gray is just another constant reminder of things they have no control over -- aging.

no, you are absolutely right. I guess this question really does bring up an answer by itself.
