I maybe a temperature relay or a lose connection somewhere go through the wiring with a multi metre and you will find it.

You have two switch's, one is on the low side the other is the high side. If you have too much high side psi then the clutch will kick out, You need to have a qualified person to look at it. DO NOT HOTWIRE the system, that is something I have seen too many times and will do more damage to the system and cost you a lot in the long run, You could be jumping the high side switch and the low is working right and most likely is just low in the system.

NOTE if it is a F250 or 350 then the wires at the high psi switch may have a break in it at the switch, move the wires at the switch with it running to see if makes it kick in and out. -------------- Post low and high side readings from the gauges.

If its full of freon, might be stopped up, or fan clutch is dead. High pressure switch cuts it off when pressure is too high. If the engine is overheating, the computer will turn off the compressor. If its that, in the morning with a cold engine, the compressor should stay on.

you say r134 has been checked but give no operating pressures. a blocked orifice tube will cause system overpressure and turn off the high pressure limit switch. due to pressures involved you should take this to a qualified shop that you trust. if you hot-wire the system it may cool for a very short time but invariably destroy expensive parts and leave you stranded [serpentine belt breaks when compressor locks up]

Check again pressure switch is what makes it turn on and off, if you bypassed switch it should not turn off.

are you talking about it kicking on while you run defrost or are you running air and it messing up?\
