Say, you won a round-trip ticket to somewhere in the Caribbean, and it has selected destinations for you to choose from, you'd pick:

Barbados - because i have never been there and i heard it is a great place for a vacation, also having won a ticket i will have more spending money so i will surely 'live it up' while i'm there.

Having been to all four islands I would pick Barbados.

I personally like visiting an island, not just a resort and I don't feel comfortable and safe traveling around Jamaica and Dominica. Both islands offer some beautiful scenery - Dominica offers some especially gorgeous waterfalls and a "champagne" beach where water is bubbling up from below just off shore. But in the end I feel like I have to constantly keep my guard up when traveling around the island due to the extreme poverty on many areas of those islands.

I honeymooned in St Lucia and it is a beautiful island. The Pitons are quite a sight to see and the volcano is very interesting as well, but the beaches I visited were average and to me the Caribbean is all about the beaches.

Barbados has those soft powdery sand beaches and some wonderful snorkeling sites. The areas I traveled in were clean and felt safe. There are some drop dead gorgeous resorts if you can afford them, along with some nice B&Bs and efficentcy motels if you can't. And although I didn't visit any I heard they have some great restaurants.

I would put Jamaica back on this list, however, if you did not plan to leave your resort much. The service is typically top notch at Jamaican resorts and the Negril sunsets are to die for.

Dominica!...why because it is definately a different experience from the rest of the over commercialised caribbean countries that offer cocky tourist smiles and service.
It is 4 the adventourous and the peaceful who likes and apreciates TRUE nature.It is the best kept secret of the caribbean beacsue it has so much to offer and it keeps being downplayed beacsue it is not developed like the other countries who nature wise has practicall nothing.
I ask you which isladns surpasses this?


Because it is so beautiful green and Prestine it was the main island pirates of the caribbean 2&3 did filmed.So going there and visiting the sites where some scenes where filmed is quite interesting.

Dominica has the 2nd largest boiling lake in the world,largest of its kind and the only one in the western hemisphere.

365 rivers...therfore uncountable waterfalls soem being discovered to thsi day

Several fresh water lakes

Branded as the Whale watching capital of the caribbean(excellent for whale &dolphin wathcing)

Was voted as the 2nd best destination in the Atlantic by Reader's Choice Magazine 2007 for scuba diving and snorkelling.

Among other reamarkable things that most places in the world dont have such as sulpher springs and pools that are natural sulpher spas..

p.s.kmuni is a a real asshole .everywhere has poverty even in place slike America etc and he abviously didnt kno that d/ca was rated the 4th most peaceful place in the world...becuz we got poverty like everyhwere else that dont m,ean anyone going an dattack you plzzzzz.U cant realte Dominica to places Like Jamiaca.Kmuni needs a life!
