Hey, I am so confused right now i need abit of advice from someone who knows stuff about BC. I have lived in dawson creek, bc (in the north) all my life, im 24 and i need to spread my wings and see different places. I have not travelled much at all, never been to the states, barley around BC for that matter, but would like to stay BC . The only thing i care about right now is getting a fully furnished place, and a job, it can be part or fulltime, i have lots of money saved up from work so im not worried about that for now. The kinda of job i am looking for is something not with customer service if at all possible, lol. But if anyone could help me out with suggestions, websites, personal experience, that would be awesome! oh ya and i love smaller towns, with scenery...not a big city fan at all!!

Quesnell, and Williams Lake is a beautiful small place located beside a large lake. Also Prince George is a Lumber mill town and is thriving. lots of timber around. If you want to go further south go to Kamloops, the Okanagan valley, to places like Kelowna. Vernon, Peachland,Summerland, Pentiction, are resort towns as they are in beautiful Okanagan Lake country and small mountains with fruit orchards.
Get your self a map of B.C and you can also look up these towns On Google or Yahoo search engines.
This would be a good time to go to the Okanagan valley as they are getting ready for Tourist Season. However you could contact the Chamber of Commerce in Dawson Creek and ask them who to contact in these towns.
Hope this helps and I pray a safe successful journey as you step out to see the world. It is exciting.

Why not try the town of Nelson near Kootney Lake and Selkirk mountains (south eastern BC). It's a beautiful town full of historic buildings - kind of reminds me of Victoria but on a much smaller scale. It has mountains and lakes. It has a lot of festivals during the summer months - music, art, etc. Have you ever seen the Steve Martin's film "Roxanne"? It was entirely filmed there.

Here is Nelson's website, check it out:
