It sounds like you might have exercise induced asthma.

The doctor may have simply misdiagnosed you.

Go back and talk to him again and suggest that he might want to treat you for asthma.

If this is the case he will put you on the necessary medication and you will be able to continue your workout without the stress to your bronchial system.

Ooh that is a long time. I had bronchial cough for about a month once - took Respi-Clear or Bronch-Ease from the Health food store.

Try this: 1 Tablespoon each of : apple cider vinegar, honey, molasses in 1 cup hot water, add 1/4 to 1 tsp [whatever you can handle] of cayenne. Drink this about 3x per day -- it is very nourishing and strengthening and should help.

I would also go on a total body cleanse - [I like using the Christopher formulas for lower bowel, kidney, liver and bloodstream}to get rid of toxins that are making you sick. Avoid sugar - it shuts down the immune system and also feeds candida which can become a real problem especially after taking antibiotics. A pro-biotic would be good too - to replace the beneficial flora which, unfortunately are also killed by antbiotics.

Your diet should be mostly fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains nuts and seeds, the less cooked the better. The key is addressing the source of the problem not just treating symptoms.

chicken soup with extra garlic is good for you too. also try drinking some red raspberry leaf tea [make sure its real not just flavored] Red Clover tea is a good blood purifier also.

Hope you start feeling better soon.

first off if you work out and get hot it causes you to cough more.the antibiotics that you took may not be the right one,you may need to see the dr again for a different one, beeen there done it .did the dr take a x ray to check for pneumonia?if not request it.you didnt mention a sore throat but if youy had/have that get tested for mononucleosis(know as the kissing disease.asthma which i have i got after oneumonia causes shortness of breath, wheezing and it varies with the person ,with me i also get nervous and panicky.you should also be tasted as precautionary major for tb.if you smoke do your best to quit or cut down.dont get overheated because it will cause you to cough.take care and good luck

It sounds like asthma. My two sons have this and it can also make you feel tired when severe enough. Your doctor can prescribe a med that will help with the coughing which will then help you not to feel so tired and your body won't have to work so hard .

I have it too and so does my son. Google "cough that won't go away." There's a very interesting website on the subject. Appears to be some kind of epidemic or something.

I agree with the asthma theory, however, this is something a doctor should be able to diagnose. Change docs if you have to, until you find one that can help you out!

Maybe you have mono? You may want to go to the doctor again, or maybe try a different doctor.
