I have discussed many Muslims (including many scholars) about the real motives for prophet Muhammad marriages. They tried to give me many different motives like political and humanity reasons, although prophet Muhammad himself said that the most two things he love in this world are perfumes and WOMEN. I also realized that most of his wives were really young (at least 5 of them were under the age of 20).

Why do not Muslims give the right answer for such a simple question?

One of his "wives" was 6 years old. What "right answer" could they give? Pedophilia is pedophilia.

It's easier to rationalize cruel or immoral things from religious texts than to confront them, because the former allows one to maintain belief systems whereas the later may question the authenticity of the religion itself.

This problem isn't restricted to Islam. It's the same thing that Christians do when they rationalize some of the Old Testament, like the parts that call for stoning gays and adulterers. I've heard some fundamentalists say that this was God's attempt to restrict the spread of sexual disease! As if an loving being couldn't simply show them contraception!

So few people will give you a reasonable answer unless they are not involved with the religion and have no desire to live by its edicts.

Did you hear about Muhammad's "bride" Aisha? She was supposedly prepubescent when she was forced into an arranged marriage with this guy. Some Muslims claim that she didn't enter sexual relations until her teens, but does this really matter? It's evil on principle.

Plus the guy called for purdah, the forced seclusion of women. Apparently he had a problem controlling his wives and they played little tricks on him. Muhammad is like an untouchable icon these days. Look at the worldwide response to the Danish cartoons and you will see how Muslims react when you poke fun at their prophet. Other religions are at fault, too. Apparently, debate isn't legitimate for fanaticism.

I like this. here you are a motley crew sitting in your 21st century rooms with your PCs expounding on things you know next to nothing. You have strong opinions about events that happened in a different place and a different time. VERY DIFFERENT TIME. About 1400 years different. For everybody. Things that ow are considered atrocities were the norm back then. Women by the time they were 15 were married or not and had at least one child. all over the wold. Christian Europe included. That was the morality of the times. indiscriminate killings, torture, rape etc were OK. So called pedophilia was rampant everywhere. Check out the social history of Europe and wake up. cannibalism is rampant in Europe with the blessings of the church. The crusaders at one point literally ate the Arabs. I, you are in no position to judge from so far away from the events. History does not pass judgments, we do.

"They tried to give me many different motives like political and humanity reasons," -- What's wrong with that?

And what is the right answer? If you think you already know why ask us then? I don't get it... you've asked a question and you received answers but now you're questioning the answers.

The Quran states that a man is allowed to have more than 1 wife with the condition that he is able to treat and provide for them equally. God has given Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him the privilege of having more than 4 wives at a time for various reasons and if he was a good husband to these women (treated them respectfully and equally) I don't see what the problem is? To us Muslims, he was not just ANY man. He was God's Last Messenger.

You can ask all the questions and receive all the answers but if you refuse to accept them.. hey, that's fine. Nobody's asking you to convert to Islam.

have you ever defined that to the Christians that helped Iraq govern in the process the an prolonged time and at the instant are being chased off the land. they look questioning why such lots of of them are being killed. Iraq is the only residing house they ever knew and now the Muslims do no longer % them around. Why no longer admit that Muslims do no longer follow Muhammad anymore and have created their very own new and more desirable version. Why with all of the weapons in Iraq are they nonetheless making swords?

I won't give any explaination.becuase you want to hear the "only" opinion which you have in your mind actualy and sorry i don't agree with this !just giving a paragraph from the book of british authour who was "Non-Muslim" and can tell you even more such veiws! And I know you won't bother to read it even LOL ! Anyways ! have a good time!

A noted British author has observed:

"No great religious leader has been so maligned as Prophet Mohammed. Attacked in the past as a heretic, an impostor, or a sensualist, it is still possible to find him referred to as "the false prophet." A modern German writer accuses Prophet Mohammed of sensuality, surrounding himself with young women. This man was not married until he was twenty-five years of age, then he and his wife lived in happiness and fidelity for twenty-four years, until her death when he was forty-nine. Only between the age of fifty and his death at sixty-two did Prophet Mohammed take other wives, only one of whom was a virgin, and most of them were taken for dynastic and political reasons. Certainly the Prophet's record was better than the head of the Church of England, Henry VIII."

You are not satisfied with Muslim views.
You are not satisfied with Muslim Scholars!

Now ,You ! Please tell us what should be the real motive ?.

What we know is quite satisfactory for Muslims:
- Prophet Muhammad was not God in flash.
- Neither he claimed to be another Son of God.
( May be because of the love he had with Jesus).
- He was a Human - Son of Adam & Abraham.
- He did every thing within the social limits.

More than one marriage was in practice in Israel as well as in the tribes of Arabia. They had no limit hence marriages of Prophet Muhammad were quite legitimate and within social order.

How many wives of Soloman??? pls. re-check in OT!

You are not satisfied with political and human reasons because he was an Arab!!!

You are not ready to give any benefit to an Arab, even if God choses him for a particular purpose, due to your racial Standards/Diplomacies.

Every human likes perfume & women! Why not an Arab?

Now please allow me to ask one simple question:-

If Jesus needs Bread and Fish to eat why he would not need a Woman??

Was Jesus not reached to the maturity! at 33 yrs?
What was the normal age for marriage in Jew society?
Was Jesus Gay or ever preached not to mary???

Why Church do not allow Jesus to mary with Mary Magdaline?? Although the close relationship is evident!! Jesus wanted her companionship even in The Kingdom of Heaven!!!

Your Motive is related to the general evil of your matterialistic society - Empty soul - Empty Values!

The main problem is that your Modern Civilization is only 3 Hundred yearts old which still don't know how to judge the things in its own perspective - in originality.

Your civilized people steel & sell Antiques of old civilizations in the name of Education & Research!

Sorry! I still don't know your Motives???

God Blessings!

the way you phrase the question makes you guilty of the begging the question fallacy. you have an idea of what answer is correct. you describe answers not matching as not really answering the question. hence, it follows that the only answer that can answer the question is the one you decide is the right answer. so, you're begging the question. don't post here again until you've taken some logic.

I am still trying figure out what your question is.
"Political and humanity reasons"
" the most two things he love in this world is perfumes and Women"
LOL,
First of all, muslim scholars would not give you those answers.
Second of all, if you talked to muslim scholars then you wouldn't be asking this stupid question anyway.

If you do your research and get ur facts right then maybe someone will give a good explaination.

As far as the "Child Marriages" goes, if you look back into history you will see that this was quite common (not that I am OK with this) arranged marriages, but it is a fact.
As far as him having numerous wives, many men in the Bible had many wives, although it is not clearly stating a punishment against them for this, However the Bible holds many implications against it.
But a wrong done even in history is still a wrong
