I think it depends on the guy. I'll be honest, a lot of guys will probably hug a woman when saying goobye because it means that they are able to touch her in some way. Most will do it because they're interested in or attracted to her in some way. Though, others will hug someone when they are genuinely and honestly friends with that person and to them it's just a form of expression like shaking hands. I have a friend (male) who hugs EVERYONE, including other men. He's just a very affectionate person.
My best advice is this: try to understand his body language. I would say if he hugs you look to see HOW he's hugging you. Is he stepping into your personal space, is he straight backed or bending over a little. Is his 'middle' trying to touch your body (sorry, not trying to sound sick). I'd say if it was a genuine friendly hug, it wouldn't last very long, don't touch the waste, stay about shoulder height and he wouldn't get very close to you. If anything different, I'd say he was probably trying to get something out of it or he's at least attracted to you. Hope this helps.

If I just met the person for a few minutes, than no...I shake there hands. But if we've been hanging for a few hours and we had a blast then I would give like a half a hug (one arm around the back only).
Anything more than that would be weird....for me and her.

i would think so . depends on just how friendly that hug was lol. did he hold you longer than necessary? if so then he has other interests in you besides just friendship. thats my opinion . hope it helps.
