My son can drink out of a regular - not sippy - cup, but he's unsure of himself and insists he will spill if it doesn't have handles on the side for him to firmly grasp. I have only one such cup and I'd like to find more, but I think I got the one I have years ago from a $1 store or something. It's like the "old-fashioned" baby cups, but I want plastic, not silver or pewter or porcelain. I'm looking for function, not decoration. I can't find it anywhere. Anyone have any ideas? I know a lot of sippy cups have handles, but I'm not washing any of those little valves anymore - not if I don't have to. And if you just take off the lid, most have the grooves at the top where the lid would screw on - that won't work. Any ideas on other easy-to-hold plastic cups, if ones with handles just don't exist anymore?

I'm serious here. He won't drink out of a "baby" (sippy) cup, and he's the kind of kid that will throw a full cup of juice back at me if it's not the right kind of cup. Discipline issues aside, I'm just trying to make this one teeny aspect of my days with him easier, without washing the same old, disintegrating cup all the time.

Does he need 2 handles, or will just one work? If he can get buy with one handle, you could try the cheapy travel coffee cups (the ones that are not insulated). Otherwise you may have to hit up some thrift stores to look for the old fashioned sippy cups.......I know that they older ones used to have the lids that just snapped on too. I even checked out eBay, but I could not find anything........well, I could but there were called "Vintage" so of course the price was jacked up. Honestly, I would try thrift stores........I will keep an eye out for any around here and if they are cheap, I can always ship them to you.......

Have you heard about BPA? Don't give your child a plastic cup.

How about an enamel cup?
