Well, Madge - because most people out here don't want to know about what is likable - they just don't seem to find it too interesting. Besides, Yahoo doesn't like too many questions about likes and dislikes out here because it looks like people hooking up, and that's not what this is for.

I don't think all people do ... but for those that do, it's their attitude in life ... the glass is half full or half empty mentality. You are either one who sees the positive side of life or the negative. Those that focus on the negative are usually frustrated with themselves and their lack of ambition and accomplishments.

Lots of people find it the easier road to take. Many need to hate on other people to feel good or better about themselves. It's sad really.

I think that a lot of people do focus on what they like.
Maybe it's a personality thing, kind of like "glass half empty/glass half full", ya think?

Simple. Hate is the feeling we have when something we "like" is in question. It is a defense mechanism.

well society as a whole uplifts the negative stuff, look at the news. its always easier to gripe about whats wrong than to show appreciation for whats right

maybe because we wish so hard not to cross paths with whatever we hate. things that we like are always welcome, no need to set up defense mechanisms. no need to spend to much energy trying to avoid things that are hated.
But of course, whatever we hate, whatever we like, they just come and go.
