It depends on the meow, she could be sick. Cats who have end stage toxoplasmosis or old cats who are senile will meow for no reason, usually you can tell the meow is pitiful and it will be random.

She might just be talking to you. Try talking back to her. Some cats and breeds are more talkative than others, some will hardly every meow, others will talk all the time.

While some cats hardly ever make noise, others are natural "talkers" and meow all the time. They do it to be part of your conversations, to feel involved with others around them & to get attention.

We have two cats and both are talkers. I've owned cats all my life and never have I had any as talkative as these two. One even "sings." She runs around the house and meows these chirpy little tunes - especially at dawn when I'd rather by sleeping! They greet us at the door with "welcome home" meows. They nuzzle us with "be happy" meows when we're down or tired. They meow "slow down & show some love" meows when we're busy & taking things too seriously. Sometimes, when they wake up from one of their many naps and can't find us (because we're in a different room than when they fell asleep) they'll meow feverishly til they find us. It's just how they are and we've come to love & appreciate it.

So, we talk back to them! Have conversations with your cat. It doesn't matter what you talk about. She'll love it.

With that being said, if your cat was never previously this vocal & is acting like something's wrong, then get her to a vet. She may be ill and crying for help.

Monitor her meows. Cats have different meows for different reasons. One, she's hungry, two, she's mad at you for some reason, three, she's lacking attention...just some examples. My youngest kitty, who is my shadow, "chews me out" when she's hungry and won't shut up until I abide by her wishes, she's very vocal. My hubbys kitty "talks" to him. So, as long as kitty is healthy and happy, enjoy the cute little vocal's you get. I know I do.

I have three cats and one only meow's if she wants something IE: food dish is empty, one is a talker(male siamese) and he loves it when you imitate his meow back to him or just speak to him period, and last but not least my little Siamese female meows when something is not to her liking or if she is under the bedspread and you sit on the bed she meows to warn you that she's there. It is their personal choice how vocal they are and what they are vocal about. Ya Gotta Love Them!!

ha ha ha... you have a very vocal cat... some cats are like that whereas some cats hardly ever "meow." Siamese cats are known to be very vocal cats. As long as the cat is not over-vocalizing non-stop, he's fine.

Relax. You have 5 catz! You should know by now, sheesh! That one needs more attention. Is she the youngest? Simple. Give more attention to her. I only have 3. It can stress you out because you only have one lap!

she could just be very vocal. NEVER kick an animal that is cruel.

if it really concerns you you could always contact a vet and ask them for advise on what would cause it. they may want to see her so that they get a better "picture" on her health and such and to rule out any medical conditions.
