I dated my first boyfriend for about a month... he was....um... a jerk. He kept on putting me down on my personal appearances (he wasn't like this until the second week that we dated... I guess that you don't know someone until you date them). Either way, I am still a bit "sad" because it didn't work and he turned out to be that way. So how can I get over this and remind myself that he was rude to me?

Don't be stupid. If I didn't love myself I wouldn't have broke-up with him.

... First of all, I'm not ugly. I am assuming that he started treating me bad because people kept asking him how he ended up with me since I am good looking.

Take it as that you tried & things did not work out as intended. Happens . We are humans & we cannot factor all parameters to have success. A moment of sadness does come but thats natural. As long as your heart & mind says that you were honest & clear, its the guy's loss. You deserve better.

The feelings will take some time to get over. I'm going through a seperation right now after 4 years and two children involved. It does get hard at times and seems like a lot to face.
It's critical that you take some time for yourself right now. Observe how his comments about your appearance made you feel in a deeper sense. Try to observe the process of how it enters your mind and then becomes a hurt.
I bet if you sat on that thought for a few days you'd see that the issue wasn't actually you. You might even see that he may have an insecurity about himself in-which he feels the need to mistreat others to cushion his own pain.
Remember, those urges that typically surround the emotions of love are powerful naturally produced drugs. Like any drug, it takes some time to get past the withdrawls.
Also remember that love isn't the emotion itself. Not many people take the proper amount of time to adjust from a breakup and head straight into another relationship to calm the fix. The cycle is bound to repeat until you take self control over it.
Also remember that sometimes people are growing at different rates. He may have been a jerk. But everyone has the potential to grow into a more positive person. He has to reach that conclusion by himself and only for himself before he can understand how these choices affect others around him.
Take the time for yourself. Be that strong confident woman that you know you have the ability to be. Not bitchy or jaded. Balanced and calm. Good to yourself and good to others.

Hey kiddo...
It's not nice for boyfriends to put-down girlfriends on personal appearances .... especially just two weeks into the relationship. It would have helped if you told us how he put you down.
I take pictures. I've put together portfolios for aspiring models. Most often than not I send them to a beauty collage before we shoot.
Pedicure
Manicure
Eyebrows trimmed
Hair cut and tinted .... like that.
Everyone can look better weather it's diet or glamor.
Of my former girlfriends the ones that are heartbreakers are the ones that look better now .... then they did then.

unfortunately we all go through this at some point in our lives.....sometimes...too many times....even though you feel sad which is normal...it still hurts...you might question what you said or did wrong..........trust me it's not you...it's him.....just think... he's preparing you for the "next one" a better one i hope.......guys all have "issues" it's just a question if we can deal with them...and they say the same about us...if someone really cares for you they "don't put you down".....if anything they tell you how great you are...take you to nice places and treat you well....you're better off without him....you deserve better...........

dont listen to love songs , as most get more depressed.
you need someone else to be around
the only true cure is time, but all will go away,
you need a new hobby and it cant be him anymore.
the love game is over for you
you need a break , it happens to everyone
Most important if you are in love with him is to remember STAY AWAY FROM MUSIC
these are the tricks to the love bite.

Keep reminding yourself that he was RUDE to you;)..we have a saying : 'The one who doesn't love me, doesn't deserve me';)...Respect is no. 1 feature in a relationship: a person who demeaned you, is not worth you love.
