America belongs to AMERICANS, no one else. Once you are a LEGAL citizen of America the reason you would call any other country your homeland or better then that of the country you now are a citizen of is beyond me. I can say yes, my grand father's family was from Italy, my Grandmother's family came on the Mayflower... ect. But all the same, I am AMERICAN.
America is the melting pot, divercity is what makes this country great, but all in all, America is about coming from other places to make a better life and be AMERICAN.

The country belongs to its citizens that stand for her rights. That includes any person of any race. While the general sentiment so far is that it belonged to the Native Americans at one time, the country was stolen from them. In addition to th Native Americans, realize that large amounts of land were also stolen from the Mexicans living in the present day southwestern US.
So, I would say it belongs to those that desire to protect it. A collective whole of about 300 million people.

If you subtract from the total those who are here illegally, Mexicans do not outnumber non-hispanic Americans.

If they are citizens they are Americans. If they aren't citizens, it doesn't belong to them.
The US belongs to Americans. That we come from all over isn't relevant.
