As some people have said, if you drink Ensure in addition to your normal eating habits it will most likely help you gain weight healthily. When my aunt was on chemotherapy and could barely keep food down she almost entirely lived on those types of products because they provided the best nutrition for the amounts she had to take in. Though as a warning, I know quite a few people who think Ensure tastes like pure unmitigated evil; usually Boost gets a better reception. I had doctors pour a couple chocolate-flavoured Boost shakes down my throat [ok, not literally, but you understand what I mean] when my vitals were wonky and it tasted tolerable as well as helping to level me out. If you can't stand Ensure you might want to try that sort instead, or just go to the store and buy a can of each brand/flavour they have available to figure out which you like the most.

It's great for those with a high metabolism and have difficulty gaining weight since it is kind of like a multi-vitamin in a milk-shake that give you EXTRA callories and nutrients that you are always burning off. I know someone that uses this with the same issue and it works, or least helps so that more weight is not shed. If your doctor recommended it, you should try. It's not bad!!

Yes, it will make you gain weight if you are eating regular meals plus the Ensure. Ensure is used to increase the intake of people who aren't eating well for one reason or another. He must feel that you're not eating well enough and need a boost.

my dad drinks it and it does make you gain weight if you drink it 3 times a day but my bro drinks it and he doesn't gain weight. It depends on the person so you should drink it if your doctor said your skinny. You will probably feel more healthy. Good luck..

You might gain weight, but all it does is add calories to your diet. If you are in desperate need to gain weight. Go to a weight clinic and ask about periactin. (sp.?) It's a med that slows your metabolism just enough to pick up a few lbs. Then after you get to the weight you want just stop taking it. You will pick up lbs. in about 8-10 days. I was 5'8" and about 125 ,130lbs. I looked sick. I needed @ least 10 good lbs. to feel good about myself. And the meds worked. No side effects either.

Yes. It can. Depends on the details of how you eat the rest of the day. Read the specific nutrition details on the label: carbs, calories, etc. I myself woudn't drink it cus I need to lose weight.

Not really, but if your doctor recommended it, then you should do it. It is like a huge dose of vitamins and calories in a can.

Should if you add it to your meals and don't use it to replace meals. You can also try some of the wieght gain protein shakes at GNC.
