Your mother should be on medication and that will make things easier for her, and you. Like your mother your father can not help that he has parkinsons. You will have to just love them and care for them and execpt everthing about them.

My 2 younger sisters and I were raised by a single, alcoholic, schizophrenic mother. We had nothing growing up. We had to share clothes and often had no food in the house. All 3 of us began working at age 16, worked our way through college (took me 6 and a half years for a 4 year degree because I had to do it part time supporting the rest of the family). Now, I am a masters teacher (special ed.), the middle sister is an insurance trainer making $85,000 a year and the youngest is a research scientist. If we can do it, you can too. Oh. the stories I could tell about growing up in my house.....what doesn't kill you really DOES make you stronger. Just hang in and know you will be a terrific person and formidable when you are an adult!!! You can do it, if you want.....

You need someone outside your own family who can be supportive of you and your needs.

I would suggest going to your school counselor, or telling your parents that you just need someone else to talk to. That you think maybe you would benefit from some therapy of your own. If your mom has been diagnosed with bipolar...then, she is surely open to the idea of therapy. I would hope, anyway. Or, even talk to someone at your church.

There is no shame in asking for help. Everyone needs someone else. Just be sure to find another adult that you trust, to talk to about these things. You don't have to go it alone. You need to take care of YOURSELF, too!!!

I'm not sure of your age or situation...but, don't suffer through this alone. We all need someone.

God bless!!!
